01 · Spending is down

People are spending less and you can't drop your prices.

We can't bring more people through the door. But we can get more money from the ones you already have. There are six ways.

Money that doesn't need more people through the door

Let's be straight. Nothing we offer (yet) gets more people out of the house.

But we can bring money in. Money that isn't a booking.

  1. Vouchers. Sold off your own website, and nobody takes a cut. Someone buys one in November, you cook the meal in March, and you've had their money sat in your account the whole time.
  2. Takeaway and click-and-collect. Orders from people who were never coming in anyway.
  3. Memberships. Direct Debit. Same money every month, whether they turn up or not.
  4. Pre-ordering. Big groups pick their food before they get there, so you're not guessing what to buy in.
  5. Room rates. Change them night by night instead of leaving the same price up all week.
  6. Upsells. Offered as guests book online, so you make more from every guest you already have.

None of it needs another customer through the door.

Book a call. Together, we'll look at what you're running now and tell you which of the six is worth doing first. If none of it fits, we'll say so.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book

How do you make more money without getting more customers through the door?

By selling things that aren't a table or a bedroom.

Gift vouchers bring money in months before you cook the meal. Takeaway and click-and-collect sell to people who were never coming in anyway. Memberships collect a set amount by Direct Debit every month whether anyone turns up or not. Add-ons at the point of booking put dinner or a treatment on the same transaction as the room. Pre-ordering settles a group's spend before they arrive. And moving your room rates night by night gets more out of the beds you're already filling.

None of it needs a new customer.

How do you sell gift vouchers from your own website?

Voucher management software lets you sell from a page on your own site instead of a marketplace.

The customer picks a monetary voucher or an experience, pays, and gets it by email or in the post. Alacer's own team handles the posting if you'd rather not do it yourself. No voucher company takes a commission, so you keep the full amount.

When it comes back in, staff take the code at the till and the system blocks it being used twice. Every outstanding voucher is tracked from sale through to redemption or expiry, so you always know what you still owe.

How do you take takeaway orders without paying a delivery app?

A takeaway ordering system on your own website takes the order and the payment directly.

The customer browses your menu on a phone, tablet or laptop, picks their items and pays. Nothing to download. The order drops straight into your system and onto the kitchen screen, so nobody re-types it off a third-party tablet.

You keep the customer's details, and you keep 100% of the money instead of losing a percentage to a delivery app on every order.

Can you run a members club without a gym or a golf course?

Yes. Club membership software doesn't care whether there's a facility attached.

A whisky club that meets once a month, a supper club, a wine club, a dining membership that comes with something off at the bar. Anything you can run to a schedule can be a membership.

Alacer handles unlimited types and tiers with custom pricing on each, and collects the fee by Direct Debit on the same day every month. Renewals are tracked, so nobody lapses without you noticing.
