03 · Staff time

You're now closed on Monday and everyone's still flat out.

Alacer can free up more time, so your team can do the job they actually came to do. Look after people, serve more, and sell more.

Your team works hard

You see the pressure they're under every service.

Alacer will lighten the load.

  1. Taking orders. Works well in a busy bar, or anywhere your customers are happy on their phones. Less so over a tasting menu. They scan a code and order from their own phone. No app to download. No running back and forth with menus and card machines. One team member covers a bigger section. And people order more when they pick themselves, because nobody's watching them order a third pint or the treacle sponge.
  2. Answering the phone. Alacer can answer every call, or just the ones your team can't get to. It checks what's free, takes the booking, and answers the usual questions. 87% of people who can't get through never ring back, so every missed call is a booking gone.
  3. Running orders to the kitchen. Orders go from the table straight to a screen in the kitchen. No paper, and no forgetting to hold the gravy or add the cheese. Tables turn faster.

Every task we take off the team is time back on the floor. Noticing an empty glass, a dropped fork, or remembering what a regular drinks.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book

What is order and pay at table?

Order and pay at table lets a customer order and pay from their own phone, at the table, without waiting for anyone.

They scan a code on the table, the menu opens in their browser, they pick what they want and pay. The order goes straight into the till system and onto the kitchen screen.

Staff stop walking back and forth with menus and card machines, so one person covers a bigger section. And people tend to order more when they're picking themselves, because nobody's stood over them while they decide on a third pint.

Do customers need to download an app to order at the table?

No. It opens in the phone's browser.

They scan a code on the table and the menu appears. No app store, no account to create, no waiting on a download over a bad signal.

Asking someone to install an app before they can buy a drink is where table ordering usually falls over. This one skips that.

Can AI answer your restaurant's phone and take a booking?

Yes. Alacer answers the call, checks what's actually free, and puts the booking into the system while the person is still on the line.

It handles the usual questions too, rooms, treatments, menus, opening times. Anything it can't deal with goes through to a person rather than being left hanging.

You choose whether it takes every call or only the ones nobody picks up. 87% of people who can't get through never ring back, so an unanswered phone during service is a booking you've lost without ever knowing about it.

Does order and pay at table work in a fine dining restaurant?

Usually not, and it shouldn't.

It works where speed is the point. A busy bar, a beer garden, a pub kitchen on a Saturday. Anywhere people are happy on their phones and would rather not queue.

Over a tasting menu it's the wrong tool. The service is the product, and handing someone a QR code takes it away. Alacer is modular, so you can run order and pay in the bar and leave the restaurant alone.
